Like Gabe, I also noticed his two different groups of
friends. Most of us have different groups of friends and we tend to act
differently depending on who we are around. I agree with Gabe and think that
Sal definitely likes Dean’s group better because Sal is at a point in his life
where he wants to be crazy and do as much as possible. He has an obvious obsession
with Dean and an even more obvious obsession with having the adventure of his
life. Although the intellectual side of him enjoys the other group of people
more, considering he is a writer I think he has to go crazy a little bit and
see what life is like when you live it like Dean. (Just like Gabe mentioned his
desire to seek pleasure) However, this type of crazy life I believe should be
short lived because the happiness does not last.
